July 7-10th, 2021. Jace's Youth 3 day Rivertrip

THIS IS THE GUIDES DESCRIPTIIN OF THE FLOAT THEY DID.

Youth have a blast rafting with their friends and taking in the scenery during the day, and leaders often set aside evenings for energetic games, team-building activities, lively talent shows, or uplifting devotionals. The backdrop of wide, glittering night skies and massive canyon walls can open the soul up to powerful experiences that leave deep impressions.

We’ve heard some say, with tears in their eyes, that this has been the best experience of their lives -- and we feel fortunate to be a part of making it all happen. We take care of all the camping and river logistics so that leaders can relax, have fun, and accomplish their group goals. Our guides are outgoing and spiritual young adults who will do everything they can to help you create the most memorable experience possible.

For more information about this trip, documents are available under the "Trip documents" section.

 What to Expect

DAY 1: Groups meet at 9:30 am at our office at 625 Riversands Road, where you can park your car at our enclosed property. Sleeping bags, tents, and other personal items you don’t need on the river will be packed into a large trailer that will meet you in camp. Once you are checked in and your car is secure, we recommend you leave your car keys behind in our office so they don’t take a swim if you do. The trip begins with a beautiful 60-min drive along the Upper Colorado River Scenic Byway, a stretch of highway famous for its breathtaking views of sandstone cliffs, desert valleys, and lush river bottoms. You’ll find a refreshing cold cut sandwich lunch waiting when you arrive at the launch site. After an orientation on river safety, you’ll push off into the flowing water and get underway. Swimming breaks, splashy water fights, and relaxing under the sun will take up the rest of the day as you float toward camp. You’re welcome to take a little hike or participate in other group activities as the guides cook up a hearty dinner. After dinner, our talented guides may entertain you with campfire guitar songs or start a rousing game like Capture the Flag. Some guests choose to cozy up inside their tents, but you’re free to sleep under the stars in nice weather.

DAY 2: After a tasty hot breakfast, you’ll push off to enjoy the splashy rapids and magnificent scenery of the Fisher Towers section of the Colorado River. Your guides will prepare a refreshing buffet-style lunch riverside. Winding canyon views and a sandy beach for playing will finish off the day as you drift into camp. This evening’s activities are set aside for your group to have their own quiet program, devotional or fireside. Let our guides know if you would like their help or participation to make this a treasured experience.

DAY 3: This day may not hold the exciting rapids of the day before, but you’ll find plenty of excitement in water fighting, floating, and swimming through the final stretch. Buses will meet you at the take-out for the short ride back to Moab, where a tasty fresh lunch will be waiting.

as soon as he got home we had him shower and get in the truck.  We had a Dugway delivery and then we headed for his next camp 🏕.

it's beautiful here 😍❤ we stayed at the Shilo in right by the river.  This hotel is so huge, old and in need of major repair, however you can see what ot used to be like here, with the bar and restaurant right on the river ( they have since been closed) I wonder if things will ever get back to normal.

We made it to Idaho Falls for the night and then plan to get him there by Noon tomorrow.
