August 25th, 2008 Rocky Mountain National Park

This morning after breakfast we went to the flag rasing ceremony with Yogi Bear, Jace is so amazed that we were staying at Yogi Bears home.

Yogi held Jace's hand the whole time they hung the flag up.

Jace and Yogi saying the National Anthem.

Jace loved Yogi so much, he begged him not to go.

Jace has Papa wrapped around his finger, they are headed down to play at the playground.

11:00 Yogi Bear tatoo's, but by the time we got back to camp it had rubbed off some, Jace was so sad, he kept saying Yogi's bloke ( broke)

Because we only have one full day in Estes Park we really had to hurry to see Rocky Mountain National Park, because on top if the park there is amazing shopping to do here and I need some tee shirts.

This is Jace posing for me.

This big heard of Elk were right on the side of the road, it is almost mating season so the bulls were quite aggressive.

We are at Forest Canyon Overlook. I asked Jace to look at my eyes so I could take a picture, so he pointed to his eyes, like du mom, what a little smarty pants.

We are at Fall River pass in Rocky Mountain National Park at

August 24th, 2008 Headed to Estes Park

We got up pretty early this morning to clean up, pack up and head to Estes Park. We had about 3.5 hrs of driving to do but when you add in Jace's potty breaks and Trevor's feeding schedule it took about 5 hrs. which is ok because... we are on vacation:) We are staying at Jellystone Campground in Estes Park, this is where Yogi the Bear lives.

Papa gets such a kick out of Trevor, everytime he talks to Trevor they both crack up

Jace is going to give a tour of our campground now. Here is our campsites

Here Jace is playing with a little friend that he had made.

Here Jace is playing on 1 of the 3 playgrounds at Jellystone Campground.

Here is the 2nd playground. Isn't it cool looking?

Here Jace daringly crossing these steps, he is such a dare devil

Please help me mom!

I'm such a sucker

Here Trevor practices sitting, this is the only 30 seconds he could hold himself up like this.

After a hard day of playing it is bath time, Jace is such a good helper, he holds Trevor's head out of the water and helps me wash his hair, or should i say head:)

August 23rd, 2008, The Royal Bridge Day 6

Today we went to The Royal Gorge Bridge, world's highest bridge, and holy cow was it high. We took a bunch of back county roads that we were told about by one of the locals, we winded and weaved through mountains and little farms, it was a gorgeous ride. The bridge itself is incredible, when you walk on it, you can fill it swaying under your feet, and when you looked down you can see the river 1000 ft. down through the slats, in fact Chris got so freaked out about it we didn't make it all the way across by foot (don't tell him I told you). So we took the trolley across, where we had lunch, hamburgers, onion rings and chicken strips.

Trevor always smiling

We are headed across the bridge on the Trolley

While we waited for lunch to be made Jace found a train to play on

After lunch me, Chris and the Boy's decided to take the Ariel Tram back to the other side, to get to it we had to hike up a steeep, steeeep, hill, almost a mile long to get to, so by the time you got up there you really earned it. 32 of us were backed into that little thing, so tight you couldn't even move and as we went across the wind swung us back and forth. I don't think Chris could get to the other side fast enough, he kept thinking about how it is made and that we were only being held by a single cable.

This whole trip all Jace has talked about is trains and we have been this whole trip trying to find a real train for him to ride, but this will have to do for now. It has kind of became the the theme of this trip, hopefully we will find one before we head home.

August 22nd, 2008 Colorado RV Trip Day 5

This is our campsite at Town & Country RV Park in Woodland Park, CO. it is very nice. This morning me and the Boy's went down to the clubhouse to have breakfast, I loved it, there is a great big table that everyone sits at and talks about where they are from and what they are doing here at Woodland Park.

We drove up to the top of Pikes Peak, America's mountain, it is the 2nd most visited mountain in the United States.

Here Jace is flexing his muscles:)

I really liked this photo, we are the same height as the clouds, Jace thought he could go jump on them.

After we got back, we had a great big yummy dinner, dutch over potatoes, steak and mushroom.

Trevor loves being outside with the breeze blowing on his bald head

We have aquired a pet fox, she came into our camp 4 times tonight, we have decided to name her Foxy Roxy. She is quite tame, she would come right up to our trailer and we were sitting out front, she once almost licked the lens of the camera.

That gray carpet is our front door mat.

August 21st, 2008 Colorado RV Trip Day 4

Most of today is a travel day, we took our time getting ready to go this morning and then headed for Woodland, CO around 10:30. We got to the Town & Country RV Resort where Grandpa & Grandma Wakefield were waiting for us around 2:00. Grandpa & Grandma were headed back from Arkansas, Jace has been waiting this whole trip to see Papa, the two of them are so cute together. Later we headed out to explore the area and decided to go check out Helen Hunt Falls.

We found 2 really cool tunnels while we where out, they were cut right through the middle of the mountain, they looked like old train tunnels. We were so curious about them that when we got back to camp we researched them and this is what we found out.
LEGEND HAS IT:
The 3 tunnels of Gold Camp Road are haunted by the spirits of school children who were killed in tunnel 3. They were on their way back from a field trip to cripple creek and while going through tunnel 3 it collapsed killing them all. You can hear their spirits laughing and giggling in the first 2 tunnels when you park and sit quietly; and hear their screams in tunnel 3. When you drive through the first 2 tunnels they leave their fingerprints on your vehicle. In tunnel 3 you can see "blood spots" all over the walls and ceiling
How creepy is that.

Jace is so funny, when ever Chris crouches down, he tries to do the same and just cant figure it out.

August 20th, 2008 Colorado RV Trip

We had an interesting turn of event, Chris ended up getting called to pick up a load in Denver and take it to Glenrock, Wy ( about 2.5 hrs away from here) by coincidents we are already here, so we extended our trip a day and Chris went to WY , making enough money in 5 hrs to pay for our whole trip and our new laptop that we just purchased so we could go on this trip, sweeeet....
So me and the Boy's spent the day at the pool, Trevor kicked his little legs until he couldn't kick them anymore, and Jace has gotten so good at swimming that I dared let him stay in the pool while I layed out and got a little sun.

This morning we snuggled on the couch and watch a movie

Jace got Trevor all the way out of his Pj's and changed his diaper by himself

After Chris got back and the Boy's had had their naps we went to Mt. Evan's, the highest road in the US. We could not get over how breath taking the Rocky Mountains are, so endless, and mysterious.

This is Jupiter Pass, CO from where we stood it felt like if you tripped you would fall all the away to the bottom,

Jace has been so interested in figuring out buttons and snaps, he practiced his button on his shirt the whole time we were driving.

July 22nd, 2022 Bells Falls with Trev

It's so beautiful in the morning, before everything's starts moving, the air is so much cooler and it tastes different. ...
