March 10th, 2014 Hospital Days

Me and Summer stayed in the Hospital for 5 days, Summer was have a little weight gaining issue... which is normal, but because she had lost 10 % of her body weight, they wanted to keep her until she started heading up.

We brought the boys in one at a time so that they would have there on special meeting with her, Jace even changed her very first diaper.

 LOL... it takes a village.
 Proud DADDY!!!
Trevor was so excited to meet his baby sister, and he needed to be dressed up in a bow tie to do it.

 Great Grandpa, so proud.

On the 3rd day, the hospital served a special dinner for 2, it was such a great way to top of the arrival of Summer.
 Nap time with Grandma

And we are headed home... Summer was not happy about being strapped into the carseat, this is the first time we heard her really cry, but it didn't last long, and she was back to herself.

March 10th, 2014 The Birth of Summer Reese Wilkinson

Me and Chris headed for the hospital at 10 am, I had time to put curlers in my hair, and put on makeup.... not what you would normally expect on the day you are giving birth.  Dr's  and nurses, they were successful.  At 12:30 we walked down to the cold surgery room, its about then I could feel my nerves creeping up, but I kept my cool, so I thought.... while they gave me the spinal block, Chris kept saying, you are alright, you have done this before, and he kept rubbing my hand.  I was thinking, why is he saying this I'm cool... but the heart monitor does not lie, my blood pressure had gone through the roof.  I was so cold and nauseous and I guess I had let the nerves get the best of me, for a minute.  Not long after that little Miss Summer Reese Wilkinson was born, weighing 8lb 7oz and 20 inch long, I kept asking why is she not crying? Is she OK? and they said she is doing great, just the most mellow baby they ever delivered.... she was happily sucking her toe.

I felt the best I have ever felt, after a surgery, I wasn't sick or groggy, just ready to meet my sweet baby, and it took over an hour for them to get her to me.

February 22nd, 2014 Baby Shower

Aunt Bonnie and Nancy and Rachelle, threw me a baby shower, it was such a wonderful day.  So many people came out to support me and our sweet baby Girl, I am so overwhelmed with the amount of love shown.

I loved the special plates and cups used, and the punch was so yummy.

I love this picture, everyone knew what was coming.... Sandra had found one last pieced together baby blanket and worked until her fingers were raw to quilt this blanket together in time for the baby show.  It is soooo priceless to me to have on of Grandmas blanket.  And so special that Sandra and Michelle and Mindy worked so hard on it for me.

February 21st, 2014 Baby Girl from the beginning

2/21/14
Well it is 2am on Friday 21, 2014 and 22 days before your actual due date, however I am having a scheduled c section on March 10th.  I have trouble sleeping right now,  I woke up to a very strong contraction, I thought this might be the day,  however it was a false alarm, once I got up they stopped, so I thought I would start this Journal.
Me and your Dad decided together one more time to have a baby girl (well your Dad needed a little persuasion, but not much ) so in June of 2013 we started trying, and in July we found out we were going to have you, I know…. not very much trying.
At about this same time we had decided to make a big move, we decided to leave our lovely home of 9 years in Taylorsville and buy Grandpas house up in Sandy.  This move was sole based on giving Jace and Trevor a better life, here they would be able to walk to school, play out in the neighborhood with friends and, not to mention, one of the best elementary schools in the State.  We decided one week and moved the next.  Because I was in my 1st trimester and felt really crummy, we hired movers.  This was a very hectic time for me, I loved our old home, we had fixed it up so nice, it was my home.  This new home in Sandy for a long time was just filled with boxes and felt so cold and I felt sick all the time… it was difficult for me.  But the kids were thriving already, which made me know right away that we had made the right move for our family.
By the 2nd Trimester, things with me were much better, we had started getting things in Sandy feeling more homey, the morning sickness had gone away, and I felt great.   At 16 weeks I went to Fetal Fotos and found out we were having a baby Girl Woot!!! Woot!!!  I next ran and got a cute little girl outfit put it in a box and wrapped it.  That night Chris, Jace and Trevor unwrapped it together to reveal the great news…  Everyone was ecstatic.  Not long after, we got your room painted with big pink chevron strips, and  I made all your crib bedding by hand, in preparation for your arrival.
By the last month of the 3rd Trimester is when I started hurting, you are very low and it has made it quite painful to walk ( I wouldn’t mind if you come today )  I sleep from about 10 to 1am and then go down stairs, eat something, watch some tv and go back to sleep on the coach, this has been the normal for the last couple of months, but well worth it.
Your Dad has been such an angel, he is so caring and giving, I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband…  Every night as we sit down to watch tv he rubs the aches out of my back, if we go somewhere, my seat heater is on before I would ever think about it, he helps me anyway he can He is a fully engaged and in tune father and husband.  .  Your Brothers are so excited for you to get here, everyday Jace hugs my belly and says “I cant wait for our baby to get here” , and Trevor is fully planning on being the diaper changer, he has been practicing on a stuffed turtle, he spends time in your room packing the diaper bag and organizing you outfits, LOL.  You are so lucky to be coming into this family.

We are getting the final little things ready for your arrival this week, I have made a list of groceries to make lots of meals to make and freeze this weekend.  The hospital stay bag is packed and ready to roll, and Bonnie and Nancy are throwing me a baby shower this weekend, so exciting!!!  We still have not decided on a name for you, we have liked Summer and Taylor from early on, and now also really like Reese, and have not decided on any middle names, we will see what happends.
