August 19th, 2008 Colorado RV Trip

I found the Colorado River so amazing, Chris was able to tell me all about it. The headwater of the Colorado River are in the Rocky Mountain National Forest, the headwaters mean that a bunch of little streams from rain and snow run down the mountain slowly forming bigger streams until they all meet together making the Colorado River. We drove along side of it almost all day watching more and more streams run into it, making it wider and wider. The Colorado River's water is what Lake Powell, Lake Mead, and Lake Havasui are all made of, that is so incredible to me. Another interesting fact that I learned about yesterday was about the continental divide that runs along here, all the water that runs out of the mountains to the West of the divide runs into the Pacific Ocean and all the water thats runs off the mountains to the East of the divide runs all the way to the Atlantic Ocean, that is a long way for water to run to the Atlantic Ocean.
Anyway we checked into Dekota RV Resort in Golden, CO. got changed and cleaned up and went to Brandie's house for dinner. She moved her about 1.5 yrs ago and this is the 1st chance I have gotten to see her house, it was really nice.

August 18th, 2008 Colorado RV Trip

After the morning work came in and we were able to cover it all, we decided to head out a day early on our week long RV trip. Our 1^st stop is Green River, WY at Shady Acres RV Park. We stayed there last year and it was really nice but this time it was really ran down no grass and lots of weeds. We got into Green River around 7 o’clock , checked out the town, ate a light dinner, watched a little Olympics and crashed for the night.

We have a little table that we set up for Jace to eat ate, it fits him and the trailer perfect.



The next morning I put the boy's in the wagon and took them to the playground while Chris got the 5th wheel hooked up and ready to go.

August 9th 2008 St. George

My aunt Mickey is able to borrow a condo sometimes in St. George so all of us Nielsen girls spent a couple of day's down there. The 1st night we stayed at Mickey's house, that was a lot of fun, her house is always full of kids. She has just decided to start dating so we posted her profile on some dating websites, we learned never start your online dating at 2AM it gets a little creepy. Jace and his little cousin Boston were playing tee ball in the house, they learned to swing that bat pretty hard, probable to hard to be playing in the house.

The next morning we drove to St. George, and started our shopping spree, Old Navy had clothes marked down to $2.99 and 75% off that, lets just say that got me quite excited. Later that night we went swimming for about 10 mins. until we had a swarm of bats scared us off. We stayed up until atleast 2am everynight playing games and laughing and shopped all day, we had a blast.

On our way home we stopped by Payson Hospital to visit with my Grandpa who had just had surgery.

I decided to get Trevor's pictures taken today because I loved this outfit on him so much, it is my favorite colors of blue on the boy's. Trevor was a joy to get pictures taken of, the most I had to worry about was the drool, he smilled and laughed at everything the photographer did, although he look everywhere but into the camera most of the time.

August 2nd, 2008 Donute Falls

Saturday Morning we got up at 6 am and headed up Big Cottonwood Canyon to hike up to Donut Falls. We are trying to get in shape and thought this would be a good starting point, and it was it took us about 2 hrs. to hike up and back down. The trail was .75 of a mile both ways and there was one part that was quite steep, I had to crawl down on my butt and then hand the kids down, but other than that it was pretty easy. After the hike we had lunch down by the stream, another great day:)

July 31st, 2008 Swimming

Me and Rachelle took the kids to the Kearns pool for the 1st swim of the summer, I know it is a little late but I wasn't sure how I was going to do it with an infant. It worked out really good although next time I think will just go to our local taylorsville pool that is not so crowded and hard to keep track of the kids.

July 28th, 2008 Clean up after the storm

Last night the winds blew so hard it was to scary and dangerous to go outside, we had gusts up to 65 mph. It caused these big old rotten trees next to us to break, we had huge limbs broke off all down the side of our house. Jace hasn't been feeling very good either, yesterday he throw up at Village Inn, so we are just hanging out at home.
